What to Expect

So you're interested in trying CrossFit but not sure where to get started or what exactly it is?

First, CrossFit is a strength and conditioning program designed to make you fitter across all aspects of fitness. We are not only interested in making your strength go up, OR just to make you a better runner. Instead we are looking to increase ALL aspects of your fitness including your cardio endurance, stamina, strength, flexibility, power, speed, coordination, agility, balance and accuracy!

CrossFit may seem only for the hardcore elite athlete upon first glance, but that couldn't be further from the reality! CrossFit is for your grandparents, for you, for the elite athlete, and for the weekend warrior. Instead of having a special program for each participant in class, we modify intensity, the amount of reps or sets, and in some cases the movements. We don't change programs- our needs are all the same, they only vary by degree not kind. Even if you haven't worked out a day in your life, the only way to get in shape for CrossFit is to do CrossFit!

What is a class like? Each class is led by a certified CrossFit Coach. The class includes but is not limited to; explanation of the workout of the day, group warm-up, technique review for movements being performed, strength, wod, and cool down. It's something you have to experience to fully understand! For this reason, CrossFit Absecon offers one free introductory session so you can get an idea of what it's all about!
